Our Lady of the Valley offers many opportunities for boys and girls in Athletics.

SPORTS TEAMS

Cross-Country   Starting in Grade 5, OLV offers inter-scholastic Team play in Cross Country. The Cross Country team competes against area schools (Uxbridge, Northbridge and Hopedale) and Catholic schools (St. Bernadette's, Assumption) from the Worcester Diocese.

 

 

Competive Cheerleading   OLV's Competitive Cheerleading squad is the premier program in the area!  In addition to cheering for the girls and boys basketball teams, the OLV Angels compete in Cheering tournaments all over Massachusetts.  OLV offers a "Junior"  squad for students in grades 2 - 6 and a Competitive Cheering squad.

 

Basketball   Over the years OLV has fielded a 7th and 8th grade boys and girls basketball team.   A 5th/6th grade team has also been available when interest permits.  The girls team participates in the Venerini Girls Basketball league and the boys basketball team participates in the St. Mary's Basketball league.   Each team faces competition from Catholic schools throughout the Worcester area.

SPORTS CLINICS

Basketball   Beginning our 4th year, this very popular basketball clinic is available to girls and boys in grades 1 -4.  1st and 2nd graders concentrate on the basics.....dribbling, passing, and catching while the 3rd and 4th graders get an opportunity to scrimmage every week in a structured environment! 

Field Hockey   NEW for the Fall of 2009!  Students will learn the basics of this fast paced game.  We will concentrate on Field Hockey FUNdamentals....stickwork, driving, dribbling and passing.  Get a head start learning this popular game!

Lacrosse    NEW for the spring of 2010!  Girls and boys will have an opportunity to learn the basics of the fastest growing sport in the Blackstone Valley!   Participants of this exciting clinic will learn the basics of passing, catching, cradling and rules of the game!!
