A CHRISTMAS WISH
We at Our Lady of the Valley Regional School are blessed to be able to celebrate and happily acknowledge our cherished Catholic faith each and every day. During the school day we are privileged to pursue the highest standards of academic excellence and do so in the great Catholic tradition of achieving scholastic success at the highest levels, by combining the proven combination of Faith and Reason in all of our academic pursuits. In our small world of students, teachers, administrators, parents, and families, we are proud to exclaim our Faith and proclaim for all to hear that we joyfully celebrate the Christmas season as a glorious day commemorating the birth of our Lord and Savior. As was mentioned in the Thanksgiving message, this is another wonderful opportunity for all of us, in our OLV community, to pause and reflect on the many blessings that have been bestowed on us. Such is not always the case, however, as we leave our Catholic community and travel in a larger world that has succeeded in making this most joyous season a largely secular event.
Happy Holidays, Season’s Greetings, Have a good holiday…, and the seemingly endless stream of secular holiday wishes, appear to dominate the landscape these days as we move increasingly further away from the Catholic understanding of this joyous season to a more secular and, perhaps a more politically correct, version of this time of celebration. I am eternally grateful that we at OLV have such a close knit family of dedicated and committed children, parents and staff, and that our little world is an oasis of true thankfulness and joy during this festive season. It is with that in mind that I as principal, and on behalf of the entire staff of Our Lady of the Valley Regional School, wish you and your family a most joyful and blessed, and of course, Merry Christmas in the true and honest Catholic tradition of the season. This is the time of the birth of Christ, which has given us what we hold dear in our hearts and cherish in our lives. Let us take this opportunity, when much of the world challenges the right to proclaim our faith openly and in public, to joyously exclaim “Joy to the World” for all to hear and, in our best Catholic tradition, wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
I, for one, will continue to enjoy the best Christmas present in my life as I celebrate two incredible years with an incredible family: the wonderful family of Our Lady of the Valley Regional School.
May the true joy of the season be with you and your family and may you have a most blessed Catholic Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
