Principal’s Message
Welcome Back
It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to Our Lady of the Valley Regional School year 2011 – 2012! I hope everyone had a restful, happy summer and that we are ready to begin meeting new challenges.
To all the new families who have joined us for the first time, I must tell you that you have joined a unique group of people. Our community is blessed to have parents who work so hard for our school and who support our goals and objectives. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask for answers or help from any one of these fine people.
We also welcome five new staff members to our school. Mrs. Sharon Hayes is our new 5th grade teacher, who will also be teaching Creative Writing to all students in grades 4-6. Mrs. Jennifer Omar is our new Pre-school 3 teacher, and I’m sure you can hear the fun spilling out of her room into the hall. She is assisted by Mrs. Lori Hill and Mrs. Beth Driscoll. Our new Art teacher is Ms. Jennifer Hagenbuch. Please stop by to welcome our new members to OLV.
We were very fortunate to complete our Middle School Academy renovation on the lower lever this summer. This would not have been possible without the generous support of the Parent’s Guild. The only item we are waiting for are the lockers, which should be arriving soon. Thank you does not convey how grateful we are for all your support.
This summer also found many families and children helping to dismantle the art area, the former Faith Formation area, and the Library. Their contribution was nothing less than outstanding and the project could not have been done without their brawn.
Our new Media Center is located on the second floor directly across from my office. As well as our Library collection, it will now house our new computer lab. When we realized that the older computers would not survive the trip, we purchased 12 new desktop computers. We owe a debt of gratitude to Unibank for a grant in the amount of $3,000. Their contribution made our purchase possible. They truly are the bank of the Blackstone Valley community.
Thank you for all you do to make OLV such a wonderful place!
