As Guidance Counselor, it is very important for me to get to know each student that enters OLV.
Being in the classroom each week helps me to know the students better and for them to know me.
This helps to make counseling sessions more comfortable and productive.

Values Home Page

This page contains information for values students and their parents. Please check back frequently for assignments, news, and other information. Teacher information is on the left beneath the menu.

The students (Grades 1-8) have a Values class once a week during a regular class time period.
Once a month, I visit Kindergarden to do a short lesson in values.
Lessons range from dealing with feelings, staying safe, discovering self, learning to be tolerant of others, managing peer pressure, and making good decisions.
Some lessons are born from incidents that happen at school, at home, or in the world.

Values can be defined as "how you choose to live your life". Everything we do or don't do is about choice.
Young children quickly learn right from wrong. From that point, we encourage children to choose right over wrong. If we are not sure, then all we need to do is ask ourselves "what would Jesus do?".
