    Grade 1 Home Page

Welcome to the Grade 1 page!  I will use this page to communicate with you throughout the year!

First grade needs to wear long sleeve plain white shirts on Wednesday. The need to wear their uniform pants. If the girls need to wer a jumper they can wear  a shirt over it. It is for a human flag photo.

Thank you for your donations to our classroom! It is greatly appreciated! We are starting to run low on tissues. Cold and allergy season has started!!!! We would appreciate some donations of tissues.

Lunch/milk envelopes will be sent home each week and are due on Friday. This will be enforced. Send them through the folder system. Please do not give lunch envelopes to Ms. Pittman at the end of the day or on a Monday. They will NOT be excepted. This is causing problems with lunch count and a shortage of lunches. Also a reminder -  lunch costs $3.

The Art teacher, Ms. H, would like donations of newspaper (to cover desks) and magazines for class. If you can donate these things it would be greatly appreciated!

** Fabric book covers are not working for some of the students.  The covers from Job lot and Walmart are not fitting the book (even jumbo and super stretchy) If you child still needs a book cover if you send in a large paper bag I will cover it for them.

Special Classes:

Tues. - Art, Library and Values

Student of the Week:  I will be sending home a paper with each student when it is their turn. They can fill out the information on the shapes, color lightly and cut out the shapes. They should be returned to school on Monday of their special week. They can also bring in pictures of themselves, family etc...They can also bring in a favorite toy, stuffed animal, collection,  drawing, trophy etc.. that they would like to share(ie:show and tell - it will stay on a special shelf for the week and be returned on Friday). They are also allowed to bring in a favorite book to share with the class. It can be a book for me to read, for them to read or they may invite a special reader to come in sometime that week to read to the class. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. It will be fun to learn a little more about each other!
